In 1985, she established her own firm. \u201cI design with a modern aesthetic and tailor interiors to harmoniously integrate with a home\u2019s architecture,\u201d she notes. \u201cMy firm is small so I can be involved in all aspects of my projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Baron Gurney\u2019s expertise lies in space-planning, lighting design, graphics, custom furniture, millwork design and furniture specifications. She also consults with clients on art selection and installment; audio\/video and computer coordination; and furniture-system installations. Throughout her career, she has frequently collaborated with architect Robert M. Gurney, FAIA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Baron Gurney has been recognized with numerous design awards over the years, including multiple Awards of Excellence from the Washington Metro Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Her work has appeared in many local and national publications, as well as in the architectural book series Modern Order and in Robert M.
