Adam Greene grew up with problem-solvers. His grandfather, an aerospace engineer, taught him to think critically and creatively. An architect father provided commentary on the built environment. And his parents together instilled an appreciation for design and craftsmanship as they respectfully renovated their Craftsman bungalow. \u201cThey reinforced the value of care, material and intention,\u201d Greene reflects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Early on, Greene joined a firm focused on nonresidential work and multi-family housing\u2014but when a single-family residence came into the office, Greene found himself heavily involved. \u201cThe experience was formative,\u201d he recounts. \u201cI saw the impact of well-executed residential design.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over time, he launched his namesake residential firm in DC. \u201cMy approach to architecture comes from Thomas Jefferson: \u2018In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock,\u2019\u201d Greene avers. \u201cWe are grounded in strong design principles and thoughtful decision-making, with architectural expression responding to its context. Each project feels enduring and appropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thoughtful design begins with asking the right questions. \u201cWe meet clients where they are and adapt to their needs and preferences,\u201d Greene explains. \u201cWe view the process of designing and realizing a project as a collaborative partnership.\u201d
