When he was a child, Timothy Clites\u2019 parents designed and built their family home in rural Pennsylvania. \u201cSurrounded by an extended family of carpenters,\u201d he recalls, \u201cI absorbed a love for construction, craft and design.\u201d Later, a local architect encouraged Clites to study at the Boston Architectural Center, an experience he found \u201ctransformative;\u201d he founded Clites Architects PC in Middleburg, Virginia, in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, Clites and a staff of six design architecture in the DMV in a \u201cteam first\u201d process that fosters relationships with interior designers, landscape architects, builders and tradespeople. \u201cOur work seeks to blend simplicity and regional architectural vocabularies into designs grounded in our clients\u2019 aspirations,\u201d Clites says. \u201cOur most important core value is engaging as a team\u2014design, construction and clients\u2014to create a positive environment where projects thrive and results shine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clites Architects instills each project with a clear sense of the client: who they are, how they live and what gives them a sense of home. \u201cThese considerations drive our aesthetics, planning and materials,\u201d Clites relates. \u201cThe biggest challenge is often to listen enough and ask the right questions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He adds, \u201cIt\u2019s extremely rewarding to see families finding joy, comfort and an enduring sense of place in the homes we create.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
