For Skip Sroka, doodling floorplans in high school was a foreshadowing of things to come. He went on to art school, where he immersed himself in color theory, materials, design and history, then got a job at an architecture firm, which solidified his understanding of architectural principles. \u201cI am a seeker of beauty and I\u2019m captivated by classical ideals of design,\u201d he explains.<\/p>\n
Sroka Design was founded in 1997 and currently employs a staff of 10 on projects ranging from renovations to new construction. \u201cWe partner with the best artisans and construction pros to deliver the highest level of quality to our clients, on time and on budget,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
Each project begins with listening. \u201cWe tailor each project to clients\u2019 unique needs and tastes, finding elegant solutions that are not only practical but beautiful,\u201d Sroka notes. \u201cWe oversee every detail from design inspiration to final delivery and set-up.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sroka believes in staying current through reading, travel, seminars and continuing-education courses. \u201cEach project is a puzzle involving the existing architecture, my clients\u2019 needs and their aspirations,\u201d he says. \u201cI see my work as transforming spaces into functional art.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sroka Design received a Home & Design Excellence award in 2025 and made the AD PRO list in 2025 and 2026. The firm\u2019s work also appears in Andrew Martin\u2019s 2022 Interior Design Review.<\/p>\n
