Hawthorn\u2019s career has been informed by life experience. Growing up in New York, Los Angeles, London and Paris exposed her to the best in design, architecture and the arts. Her background as an artist reflects her passion for color, light and balanced composition. She believes that good design requires the perfect marriage of beauty, comfort and durability. Her designs are light-filled and harmonious, with meticulous attention to architectural details. Her original furniture designs are in The Phillips Collection, America\u2019s first museum of modern art.<\/p>\n
An avid supporter of community organizations, Hawthorn has been recognized as
\na Hall of Fame Designer by Home & Design, a Fearless Woman by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, and Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. The firm\u2019s projects have been featured on television and showcased in local and national publications.<\/p>\n
