Stephanie Gamble pivoted away from a career in science to pursue interior design. “I was always drawn to the beauty of home—how it feels, functions and supports its residents,” she reflects. “Design allows me to combine both my analytical and creative thinking.”

SGI was founded in 2003. Over time, the residential design firm—specializing in new construction, large-scale renovations and whole-home furnishings projects—has expanded outside Baltimore and DC to coastal markets in Delaware and Maryland. “Our work is defined by a personalized process, long-standing relationships with clients and trade partners and a commitment to creating timeless and livable homes,” Gamble relates.

Each project begins with an understanding of how clients want to live in their home. A clear framework aligns their goals with the realities of the home, scope of work and level of investment. “We guide each phase of the project, developing the design, coordinating with architects and builders and managing decision-making,” Gamble explains. “We bring structure to what can feel like an overwhelming process, helping clients stay focused and confident—and making sure that the vision and execution remain aligned to the end.”

Recent accolades include a kitchen-design award from Home & Design and one from Baltimore Magazine for Best Waterfront Home.
