Lauren Hurlbrink, principal of Lauren Hurlbrink Interiors, launched her path in interior design as a fine arts major, developing an early sense for composition and color. That foundation continues to shape her work today. “My background has given me an education in layering textures, curating palettes and approaching each space as a three-dimensional painting—one in which every room tells its own visual story,” she says.

Equally central to her work is a grounded understanding of how a home is truly lived in. This perspective underpins her philosophy that interiors must strike a thoughtful balance between form and function. “A home has to be as functional as it is beautiful,” she notes. “I aim to create spaces that feel elevated yet are truly livable.”

Her firm’s approach is deliberately intimate. Taking on a limited number of projects each year allows for highly individualized attention and a collaborative experience. Hurlbrink begins by gaining a clear understanding of each client’s lifestyle, priorities and aesthetic, then develops a design plan aligned with their vision, budget and timeline.
