Architecture is in my DNA,” declares Devin Kimmel, who grew up working on his father’s job sites and fell in love with the precision of drafting early on. “My career has been a journey through every layer of the industry. I have degrees in architecture and landscape architecture, and practice interior design.”

Kimmel’s approach is defined by what he terms “a total environment” philosophy. “I’ve seen firsthand how a well-considered residence—from the garden gate to the interior finish—can transform quality of life,” he says. “I design the view from the window as carefully as I design the window itself.”

Kimmel founded his firm in 2010; today, it’s a multi-disciplinary practice of more than 30 staff members across four studios: architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and industrial design. The firm’s portfolio ranges from private aviation and expansive rural ranches to large-scale master-planned developments nationwide. “Our mission is to create environments that do more than just look beautiful,” Kimmel says. “They enhance daily rhythms and set the stages of our clients’ lives.”

Kimmel Studio Architects recently made Forbes’ list of the Top 200 Best Residential Architecture Firms in America. The firm also received two John Russell Pope awards from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
