D. A. Dunlevy is a second-generation, family-owned landscape design/build firm. “My training began before I can remember,” reflects principal and owner D. Blake Dunlevy. “When I first witnessed the power of good design and the satisfaction that comes through skillful application of one’s craft, I was hooked. Evaluating designs and creating solutions has been a way of life for me.”

Today, Dunlevy heads a staff of 45 versed in everything from interior design and architecture to welding, hydraulics and carpentry. “Our approach is rooted in the belief that architecture, the land and a client’s style must be brought into harmony to achieve an enduring design,” Dunlevy observes. “We instill beauty, functionality and creativity into every project. Each home, customer and site is unique, and we use our extensive toolkit to solve challenges.”

The design team starts by discovering clients’ needs and desires, helping them think into the future so spaces will endure in usefulness and functionality. Design and construction are overseen by the design team, guaranteeing the vision remains intact. “Many customers rely on us for ongoing landscape management,” Dunlevy says. “We enjoy caring for the spaces we’ve created as they grow and evolve.
