Adam Greene Architect
Adam Greene, AIA
Adam Greene grew up with problem-solvers. His grandfather, an aerospace engineer, taught him to think critically and creatively. An architect father provided commentary on the built environment. And his parents together instilled an appreciation for design and craftsmanship as they respectfully renovated their Craftsman bungalow. “They reinforced the value of care, material and intention,” Greene reflects.
Early on, Greene joined a firm focused on nonresidential work and multi-family housing—but when a single-family residence came into the office, Greene found himself heavily involved. “The experience was formative,” he recounts. “I saw the impact of well-executed residential design.”
Over time, he launched his namesake residential firm in DC. “My approach to architecture comes from Thomas Jefferson: ‘In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock,’” Greene avers. “We are grounded in strong design principles and thoughtful decision-making, with architectural expression responding to its context. Each project feels enduring and appropriate.”
Thoughtful design begins with asking the right questions. “We meet clients where they are and adapt to their needs and preferences,” Greene explains. “We view the process of designing and realizing a project as a collaborative partnership.”
Adam Greene Architect won Home & Design and NKBA awards for kitchen design in 2025.
