Sandra Meyer launched Ella Scott Design (ESD) in 2001 after leaving a career in health care. She now leads a team of six professionals working on projects from new builds to complete renovations and comprehensive whole-house furnishings. Although focused in the DMV area, the firm has taken on projects in Miami, Martha’s Vineyard and New Jersey. “Our goal,” Meyer says, “is to create truly unique, timeless homes tailored to each of our clients.”

Meyer and her team begin each project with clients’ desires in mind, while also incorporating their expertise to find innovative solutions to the challenges every project presents. “Each project begins by understanding our client’s vision for their home,” she explains. Ella Scott Design works closely with architects, builders and subcontractors to ensure every inch of a client’s home is up to ESD’s standards.

“At the end of the day, we view our clients as influencers, and our role is to collaborate with them on a unified style and aesthetic,” Meyer reflects. “This partnership often encourages them to explore beyond their typical comfort zone, resulting in a home they can grow into—and one that will stand the test of time.”
