Shannon Kadwell, senior interior designer at the design/build firm Anthony Wilder, brings a lifelong love of design to her work. “My grandparents used to transform modest lakeside cottages into year-round homes, adding second stories, relocating staircases and reimagining layouts,” she recalls. “Watching them reshape structures with creativity and intention showed me that design has the power to change how a space feels and how it is experienced.”

Kadwell joined Anthony Wilder after working for a small firm in Michigan, to which she attributes her understanding of proportion, flow and function—a foundation that continues to shape her projects today. “I believe good design should quietly elevate daily life,” she observes. “A home should feel like a natural extension of the clients, balancing beauty, practicality and respect for the people who live in the space.”An integrated approach drives the design process at Anthony Wilder, from first sketch to final walkthrough—and Kadwell shares insights about materials and products so clients can make educated choices. “We begin by listening,” she says. “Then we design, build and deliver with precision, keeping the clients’ vision at the center of everything we do.”
