Zee Design

Zee Design was born out of a desire to approach residential architecture thoughtfully and holistically, with equal attention to architecture, interiors and the lived experience of home. Founder Zahraa Alwash launched the boutique residential firm in 2021 with the goal of creating restrained, contemporary custom dwellings throughout the DMV. “I am closely involved on every project,” shares Alwash. “My process is collaborative but disciplined, ensuring that strong ideas remain intact from concept through construction. I create spaces that feel calm, balanced and intentional.”

Alwash and her team guide clients through the full design process from early vision and planning though construction and interior completion. “We start by listening carefully to find out how homeowners live, what frustrates them about their current home and what they value most,” Alwash says. “I then help translate those conversations into a clear architectural direction and a realistic plan.” A structured, clarifying process helps clients make informed decisions at the right time without feeling overwhelmed as Alwash navigates the many moving parts of the business.
